Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2026
Held annually since 2008 by The Spirits Business, The Tequila and Mezcal Masters competition is judged through blind tastings conducted by recognized industry experts. It is known for its fully independent judges and its merit-based awards, which span multiple categories and criteria. Evaluations are primarily based on Visual appearance, Aroma (nose), Palate (taste), and Finish (aftertaste), with each stage assessed for balance, complexity, and overall refinement. Casa Fierro Bacanora Blanco was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2026 edition of the competition.
One judge highlighted Casa Fierro Bacanora Blanco’s “great quality, charcoal smoke and fresh herbs, but in balance with supportive agave character.”
Latin America World Spirits COMPETITION 2026
The Latin America World Spirits Competition is highly regarded as a premier, specialized competition organized by The Tasting Alliance—the same body behind the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It focuses on elevating regional agave spirits (such as bacanora and others) and other spirits, offering rigorous blind-tasting by expert judges to provide credible, international-level validation for both emerging and established producers.
Casa Fierro Bacanora Blanco was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2026 edition of the competition after receiving 91 points and highlighted the following:
“A complex and layered expression, this spirit opens with herbal, slightly floral and earthy aromas, alongside tropical fruit, green agave, oak, and a hint of smoke with lime peel, unfolding into a soft yet balanced palate of caramel, licorice, vegetal notes, and subtle fruit framed by cooked agave sweetness and light ash-like nuances, and finishing medium with an earthy, gently medicinal character and a touch of citrus."
